Getting antsy for in-person activities...

With the weather getting warmer, we frequently get the question around this time of year: when are you going to start hosting in-person events?

For open-water swimming, we're mostly waiting for the water temperatures to rise. Our lakes take quite a bit of direct sunshine to really start warming up, so just because the weather outside is great already doesn't mean that the water will be approachable unless you're a seasoned year-round outdoor swimmer. We typically want to see the water temperature reach about 60 degrees Fahrenheit (still cold, but approachable), and historically this happens around mid-May. Look for our weekly open-water events to start around then.

Our biking events depends mostly upon the consistency of the weather - most of our events will cancel for rain, and while we've already hosted one ride in fantastic weather, it's a bit early to assume most weeks will be warm and dry. Expect these events to pick up around early May.

We don't tend to have many dedicated running events at this point, instead opting to join up with the Seattle Green Lake Running Group who hosts multiple runs per week, year-round. If you're ready to get outside for a run, you've got plenty of options already!

We're also looking for additional event hosts - if you'd like to see more frequent events, or events in your area, consider joining us an event host! The more people willing to host events, the more fun we'll have as a group this season!
